Why Does ShareSorted Not Guarantee Any Level of Internet Wi-Fi Speed or Connectivity?

At ShareSorted, we strive to provide a comfortable and convenient living environment for all Occupants, including access to essential utilities such as Wi-Fi. However, there are several reasons why we do not guarantee any specific level of Wi-Fi speed or connectivity.

Factors Affecting Internet WiFi Speed and Connectivity

1. Shared Usage
In properties where multiple Occupants share the same Wi-Fi network, the speed and connectivity can vary significantly depending on the number of users and their online activities. Heavy usage, such as streaming videos or downloading large files, can slow down the connection for everyone.

2. Infrastructure Limitations
The quality of the Wi-Fi service can be influenced by the existing infrastructure in the building and the surrounding area. Older buildings or those in areas with limited internet service provider options may experience slower speeds and connectivity issues.

3. External Interference
Wi-Fi signals can be affected by various external factors, such as physical obstructions (walls, furniture), interference from other electronic devices, and the distance between your device and the router. These factors can cause fluctuations in speed and reliability.

4. Service Provider Performance
The performance of the internet service provider (ISP) also plays a crucial role in determining Wi-Fi speed and connectivity. ShareSorted relies on third-party ISPs, and while we select reputable providers, we cannot control their network performance or address service outages and disruptions directly.

Reasons for No Guarantee

1. Variable Conditions

Due to the factors mentioned above, Wi-Fi speed and connectivity can vary widely from day to day and even hour to hour. Guaranteeing a specific level of performance is not feasible given these variable conditions.

2. Shared Responsibility

Maintaining a high level of Wi-Fi performance in a shared living environment requires cooperation from all Occupants. Ensuring fair and responsible use of the network is key to maintaining a satisfactory level of service for everyone.

3. Practical Limitations

Guaranteeing Wi-Fi speed would require constant monitoring and potentially costly upgrades to infrastructure, which may not be practical or feasible for all properties. This could also lead to increased costs for occupants.

Tips for Optimizing Your Wi-Fi Experience

1. Do Not Touch or Adjust the Router

The ShareSorted team has placed your router in a strategic location and optimised its settings for the best performance. To maintain this optimal setup, avoid moving or adjusting the router.

2. Limit High-Bandwidth Activities

Be mindful of activities that consume a lot of bandwidth, such as streaming in high definition or downloading large files, especially during peak usage times.

3. Use Wired Connections (if applicable)

If you require a stable and fast connection for specific activities, consider using a wired Ethernet connection instead of relying solely on Wi-Fi.

4. Communicate Issues

If you experience consistent connectivity issues, report them to ShareSorted. While we cannot guarantee specific speeds, we can investigate and address any underlying issues to improve overall service quality.

By understanding the factors that affect Wi-Fi speed and connectivity, and following best practices for usage, you can enjoy a more reliable internet experience. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact our support team.
