Subletting your property is a serious matter and can have significant implications for your Occupancy agreement with ShareSorted.


ShareSorted Subletting Policy 

Strictly Prohibited:

Subletting your ShareSorted property is strictly prohibited and is considered a breach of your occupancy agreement. This means you cannot rent out your room or any part of the property to another person without proper authorization. 

Breach of Agreement 
If you sublet your property without obtaining written approval from ShareSorted, you will be in violation of your Occupancy agreement. This can lead to penalties, including the possible termination of your agreement and eviction from the property. 



Transferring Your Occupancy Agreement 

Written Approval Required

If you need to transfer your Occupancy agreement to another Occupant, you must obtain written approval from ShareSorted. This process ensures that the new occupant meets all the necessary criteria and that the transfer is handled properly. 

  


Steps to Request Approval for Transfer 

1. Submit a Request

  1. Visit the ShareSorted website and navigate to the "Contact Us" section. 
  1. Click on "Create a Ticket" and select the category "Agreements & Security Deposits"
  1. Provide detailed information about the reason for the transfer and the prospective new occupant’s details. 

  

2. Await Review & Approval

  1. ShareSorted will review your request and may contact you or the prospective occupant for additional information or clarification. 
  1. If the transfer is approved, ShareSorted will provide written confirmation and guide you through the necessary steps to complete the transfer. 

  

3. Completion of Transfer 

  1. Both you and the new occupant may need to sign updated agreements to finalise the transfer. ShareSorted will handle the administrative details to ensure a smooth transition. 

Important Considerations 

Adherence to Policy: Always adhere to ShareSorted’s policies regarding subletting and transferring occupancy agreements to avoid penalties and ensure compliance with your agreement. 

Responsibility: Until the transfer is officially approved and completed, you remain responsible for fulfilling all terms of your occupancy agreement, including rent payments and property maintenance.
